The Jo Bess Jackson Reproductive Justice Champion Award is presented annually at RJM’s anniversary celebration to an advocate, legislator, or activist whose efforts have made a significant impact on Maryland’s reproductive justice landscape.

Jo Bess Jackson was a lifelong champion for social justice, fighting for equality in every aspect of her work. Her unwavering belief in RJM’s mission, along with her generous founding gift, provided the stability needed to build the strong, driving force we are today. Jo Bess passed in 2024, but we honor her legacy through this award—and in the work we do every day.
